James Shalley

James Shalley has been practicing Criminal Law in New York State and United States Federal Courts for the last 30 years. Born and raised in New York City, he is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School. James Shalley has always been fascinated by the field of Criminal Justice due to a lifetime of exposure through family members and friends who worked in various aspects of the Criminal Justice system in New York.  A strong commitment to criminal justice runs in the family.

While attending Law School, Mr. Shalley gained experience clerking for the U.S. Attorneys Office of the Southern District of New York and the Kings County District Attorney's Office, where he gained experience in Federal and state criminal courts in New York. After graduating from Law School and becoming a member of the New York and New Jersey State Bars, he worked as a trial attorney with the New York City Legal Aid Society Criminal Defense Division for seven years. During those seven years with the Legal Aid Society, he gained extensive experience in Criminal Defense Courtroom and trial practice.

James Shalley is one of the founding Partners of the Law Firm of Shalley & Murray, which has exclusively handled Criminal Defense matters since 1996.

Over the last 30 years Mr. Shalley has handled 1000's of Criminal matters and has gained valuable experience in all aspects of the practice of Criminal Defense Law and Defense. During this time he has handled a wide variety of Misdemeanor and Felony cases, and trial matters in various local Criminal, Supreme, and County Courts. James Shalley regularly appears in all New York City, and Westchester and Putnam County Courts, and handles Criminal matters in other Counties within New York State. 

Mr. Shalley is a resident of Westchester County and manages the Law Firm's Westchester and Putnam County practice.
